Summer is here in New York City, and the ultimate It girl, Blake Lively, is proving it.

The Gossip Girl star stepped out for a casual outing in Manhattan over the weekend wearing a white sundress, matching cardigan, and chunky white sneakers. She accessorized with round sunglasses and a delicate shell necklace, and held her hair back with a white clip.

Lively's relaxed day out comes weeks after she turned heads with her elaborate Met Gala look. The floor-length gown, custom-made by Atelier Versace, was meant to honor New York City's history and architecture. And while the dress was rose gold and featured a massive bow when Lively entered the glamorous event, assistants helped untie the bow on the Met steps, revealing a blue-green train. The transition was meant to mimic that of the Statue of Liberty.

Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, watched in awe as the reveal was made—giving content for many a meme.

The actress explained her look to journalists on the red carpet, saying with a laugh, "I sound like a Wikipedia page."

Lively previously confirmed she is her own stylist—partly because she loves fashion and partly because she prefers to do all the work herself.

"I have control issues and a big ego—that's probably the honest answer [for why I won't hire a stylist]," she told WWD in 2018. "I just like it. I love design and I love fashion and it's a way to be creative. In my job I get to be creative, but it's over a period of time and so many other people are involved, whereas this is a beginning, middle and end, and I get to be creative and there's an end date in the near future. It's the same reason why I like doing my friends' hair and makeup or cooking—you get to be creative and finish it."
