She also triumphed in the 2018 Arnold Palmer Cup at the French golf course at Evian Resort. She finished second behind Lauren Stephenson in the 2014 AJGA Girls Championship, and she won the 2016 Women’s Southern California Amateur Championship.

Vu participated in the ANA Inspiration and the U.S. Women’s Open as an amateur. At the 2018 ANA Inspiration, she had the lowest amateur score with 285 (-3).
In 2018 and 2019, she held the top spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a total of 31 weeks. As she went professional in January 2019, her era came to an end.

She advanced into the top 250 of the Women’s World Golf Rankings in 2021 after winning three championships on the Symetra Tour.
